There are some people claim that music can cure diseases and can gives tranquility. Here fatwa on this matter.

What the law treated with music in which some people consider it helpful and calming nerves (mind)?

الجواب: (الحمد لله, العلاج بالموسيقى لا أصل له بل هو من عمل السفهاء, فالموسيقى ليست بعلاج ولكنها داء, وهي من آلات الملاهي, فكلها مرض للقلوب وسبب لانحراف الأخلاق, وإنما العلاج النافع والمريح للنفوس إسماع المرضى القرآن والمواعظ المفيدة والأحاديث النافعة, أما العلاج بالموسيقى وغيرها من آلات الطرب فهو مما يعودهم الباطل ويزيدهم مرضا إلى مرضهم, ويثقل عليهم سماع القرآن والسنة والمواعظ المفيدة, ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله) (كتاب مجموع فتاوى ومقالات متنوعة لسماحة الشيخ العلامة عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن باز رحمه الله

Answer:

Alhamdulillah, treatment with music has no basis in fact an act of people who are ignorant (of the rule of law). Music is not a cure, but the disease (liver disease). He is the neglect. All (types of music) is a disease of the liver and cause deviations morals. Indeed beneficial treatment and soothe the soul is let out AL-Quran for the sick, provide advice and useful words.

The treatment with music and other musical instruments, it will add sleaze and disease for the sick. It will be hard for them to listen to the Quran, Sunnah and useful advice. [1]

We need to know that the music is Haram law. Because in the hadith digandengakan music with adultery, khamer and silk are all forbidden. Of Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari somebody making anhu that he heard the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wasallam said,

ليكونن من أمتي أقوام يستحلون الحر والحرير والخمر والمعازف

"Soon there will be a group of people from my Ummah who will justify adultery, silk (for men), wine, and musical instruments." [2]

Lafaz "will justify" shows that the original law is haram

And Allah did not make healing and medicine at the God forbade. said Abdullah bin Mas'ud radi 'anhu

إن الله لم يجعل شفاءكم فيما حرم عليكم

"Allah does not make your healing in something that had been forbidden him over you." [3]
