Cat Stevens felt I knew how the fame it brings anxiety. He found the answer to his anxiety on the Koran, and finally Stevens decided to convert to Islam.
Fame and fortune does not guarantee that people can live happily. Maybe for some people it makes more agitated fame.
It was felt by the musician's 70s, Cat Stevens. In the midst of wealth and popularity gelimang, Stevens should feel uneasy with the presence in this world.
She felt confused and often ask who he is, why is born into the world, and for what?
Since childhood, Stevens is already familiar with the glitter world of entertainment. Although taught to know the Lord, but Stevens got confused because they can not make direct contact with him.
"I accept the teachings, but never understand it round," said Stevens recalled.
Although confused by the teachings of their religion, Stevens still accept it. He must respect the beliefs of his parents.
Because grew up in the entertainment industry, Stevens began to cultivate the music and forget confusion as to religion.
In his mind when it was just one, became a famous pop star. He began creating music and mass media began to poison his mind.
"I think perhaps this is my God, get as much money," said Stevens.

After a year of success and worldly pleasures sip, Stevens fell ill and had to be hospitalized. It was then that he began to think what just happened? What I was just a piece of meat? Then why life is just to satisfy this fragile flesh?
"At that time I realized that the disaster was a blessing given by God to open my eyes," he said.
Stevens also began a spiritual quest. Because at that time was the trend in the West learn from the mystical East, Stevens joined studied. He became aware of the death. But the question still bothered him in his heart.
One day, Stevens brothers had just returned from Jerusalem with copies of the Koran. Brother Stevens said while there she went to a mosque and was very impressed because crowded people, as there is the pulse of life in it.
"Although he did not convert to Islam, he said there was something in this religion (Islam). He gave the Koran to me," he explained.

Since knowing the content of the Koran, the only desire is to be a Muslim Stevens. Of the Koran he knew that all the prophets and messengers sent by God is to convey the same message.
"I found the Koran is different. There is a beauty in it. The Qur'an forbids the worship of the moon or the sun but asked to reflect and learn."
Stevens then proceeded to read the Koran. He found the problem of prayer, alms and other good works.
Although not being a Muslim, Stevens felt the Koran is the answer of the thoughts that had been bothering him and Allah has sent an answer to him through the Koran.
Stevens then met a Muslim woman named Nafisa and said that he wanted to convert to Islam. Nafisa took Stevens to the New Regent Mosque.
